Water is one of the defining features of the Adirondacks. The Blue Line contains more than 3,000 lakes, 8,000 ponds, and more than a thousand miles of navigable river. Paddling here can take you to some of the most remote and pristine locations imaginable and offer endless opportunities for viewing a wide variety of animal species in their natural setting. Guide ADK offers both Canoeing and Kayaking for single or multi-day trips.
Interested in paddling? Looking for a short, relaxing experience in a picturesque setting? Our half day paddle is best suited for those who want to learn how to paddle or just spend a few hours cruising on the water. Within easy driving distance from Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, you can sample broad, flowing river or open flat water on a variety of lakes.
This option lets you broaden your paddling horizons and travel to more remote locations. Many full day paddles work best as point-to-point experiences, where you start on one body of water, making your way along waterways and over carries to another location where you will take out. Our guides feel strongly that there are few better ways to spend the day than on the water, and we think you will find the same!
Extend your paddling trip with an overnight stay (or more). This option is great for those who want to explore long sections of rivers, lake chains, or just combine their aquatic adventures with a night of camping. An almost sure-fire way to hear a Loon!
The closest thing to a luxury island escape you can get in the Adirondack backcountry! From booking a private campsite to preparing a gourmet meal (yes, it’s possible to eat well in the woods!) – we’ve got you covered for an unforgettable night out. This option, while often dependent on private campsite booking availability, accounts for a half day afternoon paddle out to an island, a relaxing evening with a delicious meal (dietary restrictions taken into account during pre-trip consultation), and a paddle back to the boat launch after breakfast in the morning. You will return to your regular daily routine feeling refreshed and fulfilled!
Our pricing is based on the types of adventure, gear to be used, length (time & mileage), and the number of people on your trip. Pricing is subject to change based on your specific trip details. If you have questions or concerns about pricing, please contact us directly!
Our “Request a Guide” form enables you to request dates and experiences online, as well as share some important information with us. Once you submit your form, we’ll reach out regarding availability and to chat with you personally to discuss the more detailed logistics of your trip planning! If we don’t have availability, we’ll work to find other dates or options that fit your schedule.
If you cancel 5 calendar days or more ahead of your booked trip, we will provide you with a full refund. If you cancel your trip less than 5 days ahead, you forfeit your deposit. We operate with this system to make sure our guides’ schedules are respected, acknowledging that they have planned around that income and a last-minute change can be disruptive. For exceptions during the time of Covid, please see below.
Every client is unique, and we realize you may have unanswered questions or are looking for something specific we haven’t outlined. Feel free to send us an inquiry and one of our guides will get back to you to discuss what services we can provide for you or your group.
